PARKING BRAKE PEDAL REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    Note:
    • After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (Click hereClick hereClick here).

    • When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Click hereClick hereClick hereClick hereClick here).

  2. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly (Click hereClick hereClick here).

  3. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the rear console box assembly (Click hereClick here).

  4. REMOVE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

  5. REMOVE YAW RATE AND ACCELERATION SENSOR

  6. REMOVE TURN SIGNAL FLASHER ASSEMBLY

  7. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE CONTROL PEDAL ASSEMBLY

      Release the parking brake pedal.

    2. Disconnect the parking brake switch connector.

    3. Remove the 3 nuts and parking brake control pedal assembly.

  8. REMOVE TRANSMISSION FLOOR SHIFT ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the transmission floor shift assembly (Click here).

  9. REMOVE NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

      Remove the lock nut and adjusting nut.

    2. Remove the clip.

    3. Pull up the parking pedal claw.

    4. Remove the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

    5. Remove the 4 nuts and 3 bolts from the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

      Remove the lock nut, adjusting nut and No. 1 parking brake cable assembly from the parking brake equalizer.

    7. Disconnect the No. 1 parking brake cable No. 3 clamp from the No. 1 parking brake cable.

  10. REMOVE PARKING PEDAL PAD

    1. Remove the parking pedal pad.
