Tech Tips
All bolts and screws relevant to installing and removing the instrument panel are shown along with their alphabetic code in the table below.
PRECAUTION
Note
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
Note
When disconnecting the cable some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.
REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH
*1 | Protective Tape |
Put protective tape around the instrument panel finish panel end LH.
Detach the 5 clips and remove the instrument panel finish panel end LH together with the No. 2 instrument panel register assembly.
REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH

Put protective tape around the No. 2 instrument cluster finish panel garnish.
Using moulding remover A, detach the 5 claws and 2 clips and remove the No. 2 instrument cluster finish panel garnish.
REMOVE LOWER CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL

w/o Entry and Start System:
Put protective tape around the lower center instrument panel finish panel.
Detach the 4 clips and remove the lower center instrument panel finish panel.

w/ Entry and Start System:
Put protective tape around the lower center instrument panel finish panel.
Detach the 4 clips.
Disconnect the connector and remove the lower center instrument panel finish panel.
REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY
Put protective tape around the center instrument panel register assembly.
Detach the 6 claws, 6 clips and 6 guides.
Disconnect the connector and remove the center instrument panel register assembly.

REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END RH
Put protective tape around the instrument panel finish panel end RH.
Using moulding remover A, detach the 5 claws and 11 clips and remove the instrument panel finish panel end RH together with the No. 1 instrument panel register assembly.

REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
w/o Audio, for Radio Receiver Type:
Put protective tape around the center instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.
Detach the 8 claws and 8 clips and remove the center instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.

Put protective tape around the center instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.
Detach the 8 claws and 8 clips and remove the center instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.
Detach the 8 claws and 8 clips and remove the center instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.

REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH

Put protective tape around the instrument side panel LH.
Using moulding remover B, detach the 3 claws, 4 clips and 2 guides and remove the instrument side panel LH.
REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH

Put protective tape around the instrument side panel RH.
Using moulding remover B, detach the 3 claws, 4 clips and 2 guides.
Disconnect the connector and remove the instrument side panel RH.
REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY

Detach the claw and disconnect the glove compartment door damper.
Slightly bend the upper part of the glove compartment door assembly to release the 2 stoppers and open the glove compartment door assembly until it is horizontal.

Pull the glove compartment door assembly toward the rear of the vehicle to detach the 2 hinges and remove it.
Note
When removing the glove compartment door assembly, make sure to pull horizontally. Pulling the glove compartment door assembly upward causes the hinges to become loose.
REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH
Disconnect the front door opening trim weatherstrip LH so that the front pillar garnish assembly LH can be removed.
REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH
Disconnect the front door opening trim weatherstrip RH so that the front pillar garnish assembly RH can be removed.
REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH
for Sedan:
for Wagon:
REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH
for Sedan:

REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

Put protective tape around the No. 2 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly.
Using moulding remover A, detach the claw, 2 clips and 2 guides and remove the No. 2 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly.
for 6 Speakers:
Disconnect the connector and remove the No. 2 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly.
REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

Put protective tape around the No. 1 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly.
Using moulding remover A, detach the claw, 2 clips and 2 guides and remove the No. 1 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly.
for 6 Speakers:
Disconnect the connector and remove the No. 1 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly.
REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

Pull and slide the lock slider in the direction indicated by the arrow to release the connector lock and disconnect the passenger airbag connector.
Note
When handling the passenger airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
Remove the 2 screws <A>.
Remove the passenger airbag installation bolt <B>.
Detach the 7 clips and 5 guides and remove the upper instrument panel sub-assembly.
for 10 Speakers:
Disconnect the connectors and remove the upper instrument panel sub-assembly.
