DESCRIPTION
Refer to the table below and then perform the necessary operation according to the part to be replaced in order to perform calibration.
Parts to be Replaced | Necessary Operation |
---|---|
Skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) | Perform system variant learning and acceleration sensor zero point calibration. |
Yaw rate and acceleration sensor (yaw rate sensor) |
|
SYSTEM VARIANT LEARNING AND ACCELERATION SENSOR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION
Note
Once the zero point is stored, it cannot be changed until it is cleared. When replacing the yaw rate and acceleration sensor (yaw rate sensor), perform zero point calibration after the zero point is cleared.
While obtaining the zero point, keep the vehicle stationary and do not vibrate, tilt, move or shake it.
Be sure to perform this procedure on a level surface (with an inclination of less than 0.6 degrees).
While obtaining the zero point, make sure the tire pressure is as specified and the vehicle is in full contact with the ground (not lifted up or loaded).
Clear the zero point calibration data.
Turn the ignition switch off.
Check that the steering wheel is centered.
Apply the parking brake.
Check that the shift lever is in neutral.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
The warning light and indicator light come on for 3 seconds to indicate that the initial check has completed.

Using SST, connect and disconnect terminals TS and CG of the DLC3 4 times or more within 8 seconds.
Note
When the zero point is cleared, DTCs are also cleared. After the zero point is cleared, the ABS warning and slip indicator lights blink at 0.25 second intervals if no DTCs are stored.
Turn the ignition switch off.
Note
If the vehicle is driven after the zero point of the acceleration sensor is cleared, DTCs will be stored.
When Using GTS:
Perform system variant learning and acceleration sensor zero point calibration.
Tech Tips
System variant learning and acceleration sensor zero point calibration are automatically performed immediately after Test Mode is entered.
If learning has not yet been performed, the slip indicator light will remain on and DTC C1288 (Error in Matching of ECUs) will be stored.
If system variant learning is not successful, the warning lights will not blink in the Test Mode pattern and DTC C1288 will not be cleared.
If acceleration sensor zero point calibration is not successful, DTC C1336 will not be cleared.
Turn the ignition switch off.
Check that the steering wheel is centered.
Apply the parking brake.
Check that the shift lever is in neutral.
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn the GTS on.
Switch the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) to Test Mode using the GTS. Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRC / Utility / Test Mode.
Check that the ABS warning and slip indicator lights blink in the Test Mode pattern.
Tech Tips
After the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) enters Test Mode, the slip indicator light may remain on for approximately 7 seconds before starting to blink in the Test Mode pattern.
Turn the ignition switch off and disconnect the GTS.
When Using SST Check Wire:
Perform system variant learning and acceleration sensor zero point calibration.
Tech Tips
System variant learning and acceleration sensor zero point calibration are automatically performed immediately after Test Mode is entered.
If learning has not yet been performed, the slip indicator light will remain on and DTC 88 (Error in Matching of ECUs) will be stored.
If system variant learning is not successful, the warning lights will not blink in the Test Mode pattern and DTC 88 will not be cleared.
If acceleration sensor zero point calibration is not successful, DTC 39 will not be cleared.
Turn the ignition switch off.
Check that the steering wheel is centered.
Apply the parking brake.
Check that the shift lever is in neutral.
