PROCEDURE
READ AND RESISTER NUMBER OF STARTER OPERATIONS
Tech Tips
When replacing the engine stop and start ECU, use the GTS to read out the stored number of starter operations before removing the ECU, and register this number into a new engine stop and start ECU after replacement.
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Stop and Start / Utility / ECU Exchange.
Following the prompts on the GTS display, download the number of starter operations that is stored in the ECU to the GTS.
Replace the engine stop and start ECU Click here.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Stop and Start / Utility / ECU Exchange.
Following the prompts on the GTS display, upload the number of starter operations to a new engine stop and start ECU.
CLEAR NUMBER OF STARTER OPERATIONS
Tech Tips
After the starter assembly is replaced, be sure to clear the number of starter operations stored in the engine stop and start ECU.
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Stop and Start / Utility / Starter Exchange.
Following the prompts on the GTS display, clear the number of starter operations.
CLEAR A/C INFORMATION
Tech Tips
After the engine stop and start ECU is replaced or after an air conditioner kit is installed, clear the A/C information stored in the engine stop and start ECU.
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Stop and Start / Utility / Reset A/C Information.
Following the prompts on the GTS display, clear the A/C information.
REGISTER A/C INFORMATION
A/C information is automatically registered via CAN.
Check that the CAN communication system is functioning normally Click here.
CLEAR THE ZERO POINT CALIBRATION DATA
Note
Stored system information cannot be overwritten unless it is cleared. Clear the stored information and then store new system information.
When the engine stop and start ECU or components of the VSC system are replaced, initialization/obtainment of 0 point learning information is performed for the engine stop and start ECU.
Clear the zero point calibration data.
Turn the ignition switch off.
Move the shift lever to N and apply the parking brake.
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn the GTS on.
Select the engine stop and start ECU to clear the zero point calibration data using the GTS. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Stop and Start / Utility / Deceleration Sensor Zero Point Clear.
Turn the ignition switch off.
PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION OF THE DECELERATION SENSOR
Note
Park the vehicle on a level surface (grade: +/-1 %). Do not shake the vehicle body or open/close any of the doors during zero point calibration. To avoid vibrations caused by the engine idling, do not start the engine.
Perform zero point calibration of the deceleration sensor.
Turn the ignition switch off.
Check that the shift lever is in P.
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Stop and Start / Utility / Deceleration Sensor Zero Point Calibration.
After operation of the Deceleration Sensor Zero Point Calibration, keep the vehicle stationary on a level surface for 5 seconds or more.
Drive the vehicle and check if the stop and start cancel indicator light comes on or not.
Tech Tips
When 0 point is obtained, DTP P1589 is deleted automatically.
Turn the ignition switch off and disconnect the GTS.
In case zero point is not acquired normally, perform the procedure from zero point deletion again.
CLEAR THE INTEGRATED CURRENT VALUE
Tech Tips
After charging the battery, perform the integrated current value initialization.
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Stop and Start / Utility / Integrated Current Value Initialization.
BLEED OIL PUMP ASSEMBLY (OIL PUMP MOTOR)
Note
When the CVT fluid has been drained, or when removing or installing the oil pump with motor assembly (oil pump motor), bleed the air from the oil pump with motor assembly (oil pump motor).
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Stop and Start / Utility / Oil Pump Air Bleeding.
