REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY
Turn the shift lever knob counterclockwise and remove the shift lever knob sub-assembly.
REMOVE PARKING BRAKE HOLE COVER
Remove the screw and the parking brake hole cover.
REMOVE SHIFTING HOLE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
Disengage the 6 claws, and then remove the shifting hole cover sub-assembly.
REMOVE SHIFT LEVER BOOT COVER
Remove the 3 clips and shift lever boot cover.
REMOVE NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY
Loosen the lock nut and disconnect the No. 2 parking brake cable assembly from the parking brake lever.
Remove the 2 bolts and separate the No. 2 parking brake cable assembly from the floor panel.
Pull out the No. 2 parking brake cable assembly to the outside of the cabin.
Disconnect the flanges from the bracket by removing the nut.
Twist casing cap B 90°.
Separate casing caps A and B.
Disconnect the No. 2 parking brake cable assembly from the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.
Remove the bolt, 3 nuts, and the No. 2 parking brake cable assembly from each cable bracket and 2 clamps.
REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY
Place matchmarks on the propeller shaft flange and differential.
Remove the 4 nuts, 4 bolts and 4 washers, and separate the propeller shaft from the differential carrier.
Tech Tips
Engage the parking brake.
If the flange connection is difficult to separate, temporarily install one nut and evenly tap the propeller shaft flange part with a brass bar and hammer.
Place matchmarks on the propeller shaft flange and intermediate shaft.
Remove the 4 nuts and 4 washers.
Slide the slide yoke towards the rear of the vehicle and remove the propeller shaft assembly.
Tech Tips
If the flange connection is difficult to separate, temporarily install one nut and evenly tap the propeller shaft flange part with a brass bar and hammer.
REMOVE CENTER PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for 4 Joint Type)
Holding the center support bearing cover bolts, remove the 4 nuts and 4 washers.
Place matchmarks on the propeller shaft center flange and intermediate shaft.
Remove the 4 nuts and 4 washers.
Remove the propeller shaft center.
REMOVE PROPELLER INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY
Holding the center support bearing cover bolts, remove the 4 nuts and 4 washers.
Place matchmarks on the intermediate shaft flange and parking brake drum.
Remove the 4 nuts and 4 washers.
Remove the intermediate shaft.
Tech Tips
If the flange connection is difficult to separate, temporarily install one nut and evenly tap the propeller shaft flange part with a brass bar and hammer.
REMOVE FLANGE SET NUT
Using a chisel and a hammer, release the staked part of the transmission output shaft rear set nut.
Pull the parking brake lever fully, and shift into the reverse position.
Using a 36 mm socket wrench, remove the transmission output shaft rear set nut.
Using a screwdriver, remove the O-ring.
REMOVE PARKING BRAKE DRUM SUB-ASSEMBLY
REMOVE FLANGE
REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE RETURN TENSION SPRING
REMOVE NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY RH OR CENTER
REMOVE NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY RH OR CENTER
REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE ADJUSTER SUB-ASSEMBLY
REMOVE NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY
Remove the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.
Remove the E-ring from the parking brake shoe back plate.
Remove the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly from the parking brake shoe back plate.
