POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM


  1. FUNCTION


    1. The power door lock control system has the following functions:

      Function Outline
      One-motion Open When the door is locked, this function enables the door to be unlocked by merely pulling the inside handle lever of the door.
      Key-linked Lock This function, which is linked with the door lock key cylinder, can lock all the doors when a lock operation is performed.
      2-step Unlock
      • This function is provided to unlock the driver door when the mechanical key is turned in the door lock key cylinder the first time and to unlock the remaining doors when it is turned the second time within 5 seconds of the first time.

      • Pressing the unlock switch of the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly twice within 5 seconds unlocks all the doors after it first unlocks the driver door.

      Manual Unlock Prohibition Function When the doors are all closed and are locked using a key linked operation, wireless key operation or entry lock operation, unlocking the vehicle using the door control switch is prohibited.
      Key Confinement Prevention When the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly is present in the interior detection area, and a door lock operation is performed while the driver door is open, all the doors will be unlocked.
      Collision Door Lock Release If the SRS airbag system has been activated, and the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) has detected the activation signal output by the airbag ECU assembly, the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) unlocks all the doors.
      Shift-linked Automatic Door Lock

      This function causes all the doors to be automatically locked.


      • The power switch is turned from off or on (ACC) to on (IG).

      • The engine is running.

      • All the doors are closed.

      • The shift lever is moved from P to R, N, D or M.

      • Any one of the doors is in an unlocked state.

      Shift-linked Automatic Door Unlock

      When the power switch is turned on (IG), and the shift lever is moved to P, all the doors will be automatically unlocked.


      • The vehicle speed is higher than approximately 16 km/h (10 mph).

      • All the doors are closed.

      • Any one of the doors is in an unlocked state.

      Speed-sensitive Automatic Door Lock

      This function causes all the doors to be automatically locked.


      • Vehicle speed is higher than approximately 20 km/h (12 mph).

      • All doors are closed.

      • Any of the doors is unlocked.

      Driver Door Opening-linked Automatic Door Unlock All the doors are automatically unlocked when the driver door is opened within 43 seconds of the power switch being turned from on (IG) to on (ACC) or off.
      Customization The on or off setting of some functions and settings can be performed using the Global TechStream (GTS) or multi-display. In addition, some functions are not available depending on specification. For details, refer to the Repair Manual.
      Double Locking*
      • The double locking system also prevents the doors from being opened through the operation of the inside door knobs. Thus, the doors cannot be opened either from the inside or outside of the vehicle.

      • To lock the doors with this system, press the transmitter lock switch, then press it again within 5 seconds to activate the double locking system. However, as a backup, the driver door can be unlocked with the mechanical key.

      • The door outside handle touch sensor is touched 2 times within 5 seconds.

      Note

      Never activate the double locking system when there are people in the vehicle because the doors cannot be opened from the inside of the vehicle.
