PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR (for Bank 1)

      *A for Bank 1 Sensor 1
      *B for Bank 1 Sensor 2
      *a

      Component without harness connected

      (Air Fuel Ratio Sensor)

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (for Bank 1 Sensor 1)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D87-1 (HA1A) - D87-2 (+B) 20°C (68°F) 1.6 to 3.2 Ω
      D87-3 (A1A+) - D87-4 (A1A-) Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Standard Resistance (for Bank 1 Sensor 2)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D89-1 (HA1B) - D89-2 (+B) 20°C (68°F) 2 to 6 Ω
      D89-3 (A1B+) - D89-4 (A1B-) Always 10 kΩ or higher

      If the result is not as specified, replace the air fuel ratio sensor.

  2. INSPECT AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR (for Bank 2)

      (Air Fuel Ratio Sensor)

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (for Bank 2 Sensor 1)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D88-1 (HA2A) - D88-2 (+B) 20°C (68°F) 1.6 to 3.2 Ω
      D88-3 (A2A+) - D88-4 (A2A-) Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Standard Resistance (for Bank 2 Sensor 2)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D90-1 (HA2B) - D90-2 (+B) 20°C (68°F) 2 to 6 Ω
      D90-3 (A2B+) - D90-4 (A2B-) Always 10 kΩ or higher

      If the result is not as specified, replace the air fuel ratio sensor.
