FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

CAUTION:

Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the parts may injure your hands.

Tip:
  • Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  • The following procedure is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE

  1. PRECAUTION

    Note:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    Note:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY

    1. Lift up the seat track adjusting handle and move the front seat assembly to the foremost position.

      Using a T40 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 2 bolts on the rear side of the front seat assembly.

      Lift up the seat track adjusting handle and move the front seat assembly to the rearmost position.

    4. Using a T40 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 2 bolts on the front side of the front seat assembly.

    5. Turn the reclining adjuster release handle and move the seatback to the upright position.

    6. w/ Vertical Adjuster:

      1. Operate the vertical adjusting handle and move the front seat assembly to the uppermost position.

    7. w/ Seat Heater System:

      1. Disconnect the front seat cushion heater assembly connector under the front seat assembly.

      Wire Harness Clamp

      Disconnect the front seat airbag assembly connector under the front seat assembly.

      Note:

      When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

    9. Disconnect the front seat inner belt assembly connector under the front seat assembly.

    10. Remove the wire harness clamp under the front seat assembly.

      Remove the front seat assembly.

      Note:

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

  4. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle)

  5. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

  6. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE HOLE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  7. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

  8. REMOVE PACKAGE TRAY TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY (w/ Package Tray Trim)

  9. REMOVE REAR FLOOR MAT ASSEMBLY

  10. REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Separate Seat Type)

  11. REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Bench Seat Type)

  12. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 3 Door)

  13. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 5 Door)

  14. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP (for 3 Door)

  15. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP (for 5 Door)

  16. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP (for 5 Door)

  17. DISCONNECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY (for 3 Door)

  18. DISCONNECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY (for 5 Door)

  19. DISCONNECT NO. 1 REAR SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY (for 3 Door)

  20. DISCONNECT NO. 1 REAR SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY (for 5 Door)

  21. REMOVE FRONT QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY (for 3 Door)

  22. REMOVE REAR SEAT SIDE GARNISH (for 5 Door)

  23. REMOVE LOWER CENTER PILLAR GARNISH (for 5 Door)

  24. DISCONNECT FRONT FLOOR CARPET ASSEMBLY

    1. B374565

      Disconnect the front floor carpet assembly as shown in the illustration.

  25. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER TRACK BRACKET LOWER REAR

    1. B374566

      Remove the 3 bolts and front seat inner track bracket lower rear.
