  1. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENTS

    Component Function
    Radio and Display Receiver Assembly
    • Plays back audio from each audio source, such as radio, CD and Bluetooth audio.

    • Sends audio signals from each audio source to the speakers.*1

    • Sends audio signals from each audio source to the stereo component amplifier assembly.*2

    • Sends the status information of each audio source, hands-free system and voice recognition system to the combination meter assembly.

    • Receives operation signals from the combination meter assembly to change the audio source, make a call or take a call based on the audio source and hands-free system settings set on the multi-information display.

    • Sends status information of each audio source to the meter mirror sub-assembly.*3

    • Sends and receives content information from the application server through a Bluetooth connected smartphone.*4

    • Using the built-in application player, operates and displays applications that are installed on the Bluetooth connected smartphone.*4

    • When utilizing audio content, outputs the sound from applications to the vehicle speakers.*4

    • Is equipped with an application player to run applications.*4

    • Is equipped with a 2.4 GHz frequency band wireless LAN and can communicate with a MirrorLink device*5 or Miracast device*6 via Wi-Fi (P2P mode).

    Navigation ECU*7 Enables the use of navigation function when installed to the radio and display receiver assembly.

    Receives radio broadcasting signals (digital TV).
    Television Antenna Assembly*8 Amplifies digital TV signals from the digital TV antenna and sends them to the navigation ECU.

    No. 1 Amplifier Antenna Assembly Amplifies radio broadcasting signals from the radio antenna and sends them to the radio and display receiver assembly.

    • DAB*9

    Receives radio broadcasting signals (DAB).
    Digital Audio Broadcasting Antenna Assembly*9 Amplifies DAB signals from the DAB antenna and sends them to the radio and display receiver assembly.

    Navigation Antenna Assembly


    • GPS Antenna

    Receives signals from GPS satellites and transmits these signals to the radio and display receiver assembly*1 or navigation ECU*7.
    Steering Pad Switch Assembly Sends operation signals from switches such as the volume switch, mode switch, seek switch, telephone switch and voice switch, to the spiral cable sub-assembly.
    Spiral Cable Sub-assembly Sends operation signals from the steering pad switch assembly to the radio and display receiver assembly.
    Roof Console Box Sub-assembly Houses the telephone microphone assembly.
    Telephone Microphone Assembly
    • Receives the user's voice through the microphone module.

    • Recognizes speech during voice recognition system operation and sends the audio signal to the radio and display receiver assembly.

    Cooler Control Switch Assembly*10 Sends operation signals from switches such as the channel up/down switch, tune up/down switch, volume up/down switch, power switch and mode switch operation to the radio and display receiver assembly.
    No. 1 Stereo Jack Adapter Assembly
    • Sends audio signals to the radio and display receiver assembly when an auxiliary device is connected.

    • Communicates with the radio and display receiver assembly via a USB communication line when a USB memory device, portable audio player (USB type) or Apple product is connected.

    • By connecting a smartphone with Toyota Link apps installed via a USB cable, communicates with the radio and display receiver assembly via a USB communication line.*4

    Stereo Component Amplifier Assembly*2 Amplifies audio signals sent from the radio and display receiver assembly and sends them to the speakers.
    Combination Meter Assembly
    • Sends vehicle speed signals to the radio and display receiver assembly, stereo component amplifier assembly*2 and navigation ECU*7.

    • Displays the status information of each audio source, hands-free system and voice recognition system which is received from the radio and display receiver assembly on the multi-information display.

    • Sends operation signals to the radio and display receiver when the audio source and hands-free system settings are set on the multi-information display.

    Meter Mirror Sub-assembly*3 Receives audio source status information from the radio and display receiver assembly and displays the audio source status on the headup display.
