DESCRIPTION

The power management control ECU monitors the IGCT relay and detects the following malfunction.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Tech Tips


  • If the auxiliary battery voltage is applied to terminal +B1 or +B2 of the power management control ECU, even though the power switch is off, the circuit is shorted to +B.

  • After the repair, clear the DTCs and perform the following procedure to check that DTCs are not output.


    1. Turn the power switch on (IG) and wait for 15 seconds or more.

    2. Turn the power switch off and wait for 30 seconds or more.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT RELAY (IGCT)


    1. Remove the IGCT relay from the engine room relay block and junction block assembly.

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3 - 5 Auxiliary battery voltage is not applied between terminals 1 and 2 10 kΩ or higher

    3. Install the IGCT relay.

    REPLACE RELAY (IGCT)

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU - ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK AND JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY)


    1. Remove the IGCT relay from the engine room relay block and junction block assembly.

    2. Disconnect the A21 and A22 power management control ECU connectors.

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    4. Install the IGCT relay.

    5. Reconnect the A21 and A22 power management control ECU connectors.
