ECD SYSTEM TC and CG Terminal Circuit

DESCRIPTION

Terminals TC and CG are located in the DLC3.

The DLC3 is located under the instrument panel under cover. When terminals TC and CG are connected, DTC in normal mode or test mode can be read from the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) in the combination meter.

Also, terminal SIL is located in the DLC3. This terminal is used by the M-OBD communication with intelligent tester.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK DLC3 (CHECK VOLTAGE)


    1. A01DVJWE03

      Measure the voltage of the DLC3 connector.

      Standard voltage
      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      D1-16 (BAT) - D1-4 (CG) 9 to 14 V

    OK
  2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (ECM - DLC3)


    1. A01DZWYE03

      Disconnect the E20 ECM connector.

    2. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      D1-7 (SIL) - E20-15 (SIL) Below 1 Ω
      D1-13 (TC) - E20-4 (TC) Below 1 Ω
      E20-15 (SIL) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      E20-4 (TC) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

  3. CHECK DLC3


    1. A01DVJWE04

      Measure the resistance of the DLC3 connector and body ground.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      D1-4 (CG) - Body ground Below 1 Ω

  4. INSPECT FUSE (OBD FUSE)


    1. A01DXEFE01

      Remove the OBD fuse from the instrument panel junction block.

    2. Measure the resistance of the OBD fuse.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      OBD fuse Below 1 Ω (continuity)

    OK
