DYNAMIC RADAR CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM, Diagnostic DTC:P1616

DTC Code DTC Name
P1616 Communication Error from ECM to Distance Control ECU

DESCRIPTION

The ECM is the only component that has a function to store and output DTCs in the dynamic radar cruise control system. Therefore, if the driving support ECU detects a communication error from the ECM, it sends a malfunction signal back to the ECM.

Communication Error from ECM to Distance Control ECU

While the vehicle speed is 50 km/h (30 mph) or more with the cruise control switch on, the ECM continuously receives a logical error signal from the driving support ECU for 0.15 seconds or more.

  • ECM

  • Driving support ECU

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note:

When the driving support ECU or ECM is replaced with a new one, initialization must be performed (Click here).

PROCEDURE

  1. CONFIRM DESIGNATION INFORMATION

    1. Confirm the designation information.

      1. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

      2. Turn the cruise control switch on.

      3. With the brake pedal depressed, push the cruise control switch to +RES 3 times within 3 seconds. Check that the skid control buzzer sounds at this time.

        OK

The skid control buzzer sounds (initialization is performed).

        Note:
        • Do not turn the light control switch on at this time as doing so causes the beam axis to deviate. If the light control switch is turned on by mistake, readjust the beam axis.
