DRIVE BELT INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

  1. INSTALL FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT (w/ Air Conditioning System)

      4 mm Bi-hexagon Wrench

      Set the fan and generator V belt onto every pulley.

    2. Attach a wrench to the hexagonal portion (A) of the V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly as shown in the illustration, and while rotating the V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly counterclockwise, remove the 4 mm bi-hexagon wrench.

      Note:

      Check that the fan and generator V belt is properly set to each pulley.

  2. INSTALL FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT (w/o Air Conditioning System)

    1. Install the generator assembly with the 2 bolts.

      42 N*m

      428 kgf*cm

      31 ft.*lbf

    2. Connect the generator assembly connector.

    3. Connect the wire harness to terminal B with the nut.

      12 N*m

      122 kgf*cm

      9 ft.*lbf

    4. Install the terminal cap.

    5. Install the washer jar assembly with the 2 bolts.

      5.5 N*m

      56 kgf*cm

      49 in.*lbf

    6. Engage the 3 wire harness clamps to the washer jar assembly.

      Set the fan and generator V belt on the generator pulley.

    8. Set the SST on the crankshaft pulley.

    9. Set the fan and generator V belt on the SST as shown in the illustration.

    10. Turn the crankshaft pulley counterclockwise until the fan and generator V belt is completely mounted on the crankshaft pulley and disengage the SST.

  3. INSTALL HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY RH (w/o Air Conditioning System)

  4. CONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL (w/o Air Conditioning System)

    Note:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
