DRIVE BELT REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

  1. PRECAUTION (w/o Air Conditioning System)

    Note:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL (w/o Air Conditioning System)

    Note:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  3. REMOVE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY RH (w/o Air Conditioning System)

  4. REMOVE FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT (w/o Air Conditioning System)

      Remove the terminal cap.

    2. Remove the nut and disconnect the wire harness from terminal B.

    3. Disconnect the generator assembly connector.

    4. Loosen the bolt (A).

      Disengage the 3 wire harness clamps from the washer jar assembly.

    6. Remove the 2 bolts.

    7. Move the washer jar assembly and remove the bolt (B).

      Slide the generator assembly as shown in the illustration.

    9. Remove the fan and generator V belt.

  5. REMOVE FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT (w/ Air Conditioning System)

      4 mm Bi-hexagon Wrench

      Attach a wrench to the hexagonal portion (A) of the V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly as shown in the illustration.

    2. Rotate the V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly counterclockwise to align the 2 holes, and then insert a 4 mm bi-hexagon wrench into both holes to secure the V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly.

    3. Remove the fan and generator V belt from the V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly.
