VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER SWITCH INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER SWITCH

      *a	Component without harness connected (Vehicle Approaching Speaker Switch)

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 11 (ECU) - 8 (IG) Vehicle approaching speaker switch on Below 1 Ω Vehicle approaching speaker switch off 10 kΩ or higher

      If the result is not as specified, replace the vehicle approaching speaker switch.

   2. Check that the indicator illuminates.

      
      

      1. Apply voltage from the auxiliary battery to the vehicle approaching speaker switch and check that the indicator illuminates.

         OK
         Measurement Condition Specified Condition Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 8 (IG) Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 12 (IND) Illuminates

         If the result is not as specified, replace the vehicle approaching speaker switch.

   3. Check that the switch illuminates.

      
      

      1. Apply voltage from the auxiliary battery to the vehicle approaching speaker switch and check that the switch illuminates.

         OK
         Measurement Condition Specified Condition Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 10 (ILL+) Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 9 (ILL-) Illuminates

         If the result is not as specified, replace the vehicle approaching speaker switch.
