FUEL INJECTION PUMP ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION


  1. CHECK INJECTION PUMP


    1. A01DVUN

      Inspect the engine speed sensor.


      1. Measure the resistance of the sensor.

        Standard resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        1 (NE-) - 2 (NE+) 20°C (68°F) 205 to 255 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the speed sensor.

    2. A01DVZJE01

      Inspect the spill control valve.


      1. Measure the resistance of the spill control valve.

        Standard resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        1 (SPV-) - 2 (SPV+) 20°C (68°F) 1 to 2 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the injection pump.

  2. CHECK TIMING CONTROL VALVE


    1. A01DZETE02

      Inspect the timing control valve.


      1. Measure the resistance of the timing control valve.

        Standard resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        1 (+B) - 2 (TCV) 20°C (68°F) 10 to 14 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the timing control valve.

    2. Inspect the timing control valve operation.


      1. Connect the battery's positive (+) lead to the timing control terminal +B.

      2. Connect the battery's negative (-) lead to the timing control valve terminal TCV.

      3. Check that the solenoid makes a "click" sound.

        Note


        • Do not apply voltage for more than 30 seconds to avoid burning out the timing control valve solenoid.

        • When performing this step, wait until the solenoid coils become cool enough that the solenoid can be touched by hand.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the timing control valve.
