VANE PUMP(for 1UR-FE) REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note:

  • When using a vise, do not overtighten it.

  • When installing the parts indicated by arrows, coat them with power steering fluid (Click here).

PROCEDURE

  1. PRECAUTION

    Note:

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (Click hereClick hereClick here).

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    Note:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems needto be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Click hereClick hereClick hereClick here).

  3. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL RH

  4. REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL RH

  5. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  6. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP AND HOSE

  7. REMOVE AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY

  8. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE

    Click hereClick here

  9. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT UPPER SEAL

    Click hereClick here

  10. REMOVE FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT

    Click here

  11. DISCONNECT NO. 1 OIL RESERVOIR TO PUMP HOSE

      Slide the clip and disconnect the oil reservoir to pump hose from the vane pump.

  12. DISCONNECT POWER STEERING OIL PRESSURE SWITCH CONNECTOR

      Disconnect the connector.

  13. DISCONNECT PRESSURE FEED TUBE

      Remove the union bolt and disconnect the pressure feed tube.

    2. Remove the gasket.

  14. REMOVE VANE PUMP ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 2 bolts and vane pump.
