PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE NO. 3 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (w/ LEXUS Parking Assist-sensor System)

  2. REMOVE NO. 4 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (w/ LEXUS Parking Assist-sensor System)

  3. REMOVE NO. 3 ULTRASONIC SENSOR RETAINER (w/ LEXUS Parking Assist-sensor System)

  4. REMOVE NO. 4 ULTRASONIC SENSOR RETAINER (w/ LEXUS Parking Assist-sensor System)

  5. REMOVE NO. 3 LUGGAGE ROOM WIRE (w/ LEXUS Parking Assist-sensor System)

      Disengage the 3 clamps and remove the No. 3 luggage room wire.

  6. REMOVE ULTRASONIC SENSOR CLIP (w/ LEXUS Parking Assist-sensor System)

    Tech Tips

    When removing the ultrasonic sensor clip, heat the rear bumper assembly and ultrasonic sensor clip using a heat light.

    Heating Temperature
    Item Temperature
    Rear Bumper Assembly 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)
    Ultrasonic Sensor Clip 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

    CAUTION:


    • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts, touching the heat light may result in burns.

    • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

    Note

    Do not heat the rear bumper assembly or ultrasonic sensor clip excessively.

      Remove the 3 ultrasonic sensor clips.

  7. REMOVE REFLEX REFLECTOR ASSEMBLY LH

      Remove the screw.

      Disengage the 2 claws as shown in the illustration to remove the reflex reflector assembly LH.

  8. REMOVE REFLEX REFLECTOR ASSEMBLY RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  9. REMOVE REAR BUMPER LOWER COVER


    1. Remove the 2 screws and 13 clips.

    2. Disengage the 7 claws and 7 guides as shown in the illustration to remove the rear bumper lower cover.

  10. REMOVE REAR BUMPER PROTECTOR

      Remove the 2 rear bumper protectors.

  11. REMOVE REAR BUMPER PAD

      Remove the rear bumper pad.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  12. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SIDE SEAL LH

      Disengage the 3 claws as shown in the illustration to remove the rear bumper side seal LH.

  13. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SIDE SEAL RH

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  14. REMOVE REAR BUMPER PLATE RH

      Disengage the claw as shown in the illustration to remove the rear bumper plate RH.

  15. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SIDE MOULDING LH

      Remove the 2 screws.

      Disengage the 3 claws and 2 guides as shown in the illustration to remove the rear bumper side moulding LH.

  16. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SIDE MOULDING RH

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  17. REMOVE REAR BUMPER MOULDING

      Disengage the 5 claws and guide as shown in the illustration to remove the rear bumper moulding.

  18. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SIDE RETAINER LH

      Disengage the 3 clips as shown in the illustration.

      Disengage the 2 claws as shown in the illustration to remove the rear bumper side retainer LH.

  19. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SIDE RETAINER RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  20. DISCONNECT REAR WHEEL HOUSE LINER LH

      Remove the 2 screws and grommet and disconnect the rear wheel house liner LH.

  21. DISCONNECT REAR WHEEL HOUSE LINER RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  22. REMOVE NO. 2 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT SIDE PROTECTOR COVER

      Remove the clip.

    2. Disengage the 2 No. 2 luggage compartment side protector cover clips as shown in the illustration and remove the No. 2 luggage compartment side protector cover.

  23. REMOVE NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT SIDE PROTECTOR COVER

      Remove the bolt, clip and No. 1 luggage compartment side protector cover.

  24. REMOVE REAR BUMPER LOWER RETAINER LH

      Remove the 2 screws.

      Disengage the claw as shown in the illustration to remove the rear bumper lower retainer LH.

  25. REMOVE REAR BUMPER LOWER RETAINER RH

  26. REMOVE REAR BUMPER ENERGY ABSORBER

  27. REMOVE NO. 1 REAR BUMPER REINFORCEMENT
