OIL PAN REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

  1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER (for 1ZR-FAE)

  2. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER (for 8NR-FTS)

  3. REMOVE REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER LH (for 1ZR-FAE)

  4. REMOVE REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER LH (for 8NR-FTS)

  5. REMOVE TRANSAXLE OIL (CVT) PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the refill plug and gasket from the rear transaxle case.

      Using a 6 mm hexagon socket wrench, remove the overflow plug and gasket from the transaxle oil (CVT) pan sub-assembly.

      No. 1 Transmission Oil Filler Tube

      Using a 6 mm hexagon socket wrench, remove the No. 1 transmission oil filler tube from the transaxle oil (CVT) pan sub-assembly, and drain the fluid.

      Tip:

      Removing the No. 1 transmission oil filler tube will drain all of the fluid in the transaxle oil (CVT) pan sub-assembly.

      Remove the 16 bolts and transaxle oil (CVT) pan sub-assembly from the transaxle case.

      Note:

      Some fluid will remain in the transaxle oil (CVT) pan sub-assembly. Remove all the bolts, and carefully remove the transaxle oil (CVT) pan sub-assembly.

    5. Remove the transaxle oil pan (CVT) gasket.

    6. Temporarily install the gasket and refill plug to the rear transaxle case.

      Tip:

      Reuse the old gasket as the refill plug will be removed again to adjust the fluid level.

  6. REMOVE OIL CLEANER (CVT) MAGNET

      Oil Cleaner (CVT) Magnet

      Remove the 3 oil cleaner (CVT) magnets from the transaxle oil (CVT) pan sub-assembly.

    2. Clean off any metal particles adhered to the 3 oil cleaner (CVT) magnets.

    3. Clean the transaxle oil (CVT) pan sub-assembly and remove any metal particles, sludge, etc.
