OUTLINE

1. Lightweight and Highly Rigid Body

   1. Using high-strength sheet steel and ultra high-strength sheet steel reduces weight and ensures rigidity together with an optimized frame joint structure and optimal positioning of reinforcement members.

2. Safety Features

   1. The body has a structure that can distribute energy to many members to increase absorption of collision energy and a high strength framework that can control the deformation of the cabin and help secure sufficient survival space.

3. Rust-resistant Body

   1. Rust-resistance performance is enhanced by extensive use of anti-corrosion sheet steel, as well as by anti-corrosion treatments that include the application of anti-rust wax, sealer and anti-chipping paint to parts that corrode easily, such as the hood and rocker panels.

4. Low Vibration and Low Noise Body

   1. By connecting braces and reinforcements to the body panels, panel vibration has been reduced. Changes in the structure of body panels also reduce panel vibration. A body structure which reduces body panel frame movement ensures low noise levels.

   2. Effective application of vibration damping and noise suppressant materials reduces engine, wind and road noise.

5. Aerodynamics

   1. The surface where the front pillar meets the windshield has been leveled off and the shape around the doors and rockers has been smoothed, effectively reducing separation.

   2. Various types of airflow routing parts are provided under the floor, and an undercover is provided to make the under body flat in order to ensure excellent aerodynamic performance.

6. Parts with Low Repair Cost

   1. Rear end parts are connected by bolts, ensuring ease of repair.

1. Front View

   1. The iconic "X" graphic is transformed into a 3 Dimensional architecture obtaining a mass oriented design theme.

   2. The "X" shape can be read in a new way, opposite to current generation but always strong and unique to the vehicle.

   3. New headlight and light guide signature adds personality emphasizing the keen look*1 concept.

      It is expressed through the combination of an emphasis on the three dimensional Toyota brand logo and a dynamic under priority design*2.

      *2: A design which boldly emphasize the lower grille in consideration of aerodynamics, cooling, and enhance pedestrian protection.

      

   4. To complete the front design, the under light ornaments are adding spice character, support the signature reading, wider feel, providing originality and the possibility of a bigger grade management and customisation.

      

2. Rear View

   1. In the rear the "X" signature can be perceived and the newly designed rear combination lights are supporting this design theme.

      

   2. To emphasize small cabin perception and agile feel, the upper signature of rear combination light moves inboard while horizontal and wider feel is obtained by pushing outward the signature of the bottom area.

      

3. Side View

   1. Side Dynamism Emphasis:

      1. On the side view, the vehicle compactness is kept.

      2. Front logo area re-design has increased forward movement, combined with newly designed rear light outer lens we can obtain a stretched effect from front to rear increasing the dynamic and agile feel.

         

4. Lighting Appearance and Layout

   1. Lights image by light guides: vehicle's bold personality can be easily recognised in any condition.
