PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING GTS


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Radar Cruise 1 / Data List.

    5. for 8AR-FTS:

      Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.

  2. INSPECT CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH


    1. Remove the cruise control main switch.

    2. Inspect the cruise control main switch.

  3. CHECK STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. Disconnect the z3 spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the z12 cruise control switch wire connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      z3-7 (ECC) - z12-1 AlwAys Below 1 Ω

    4. Connect the z12 cruise control switch wire connector.

    5. Connect the z3 spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly connector.

  4. INSPECT SPIRAL WITH SENSOR CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly.

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL WITH SENSOR CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - ECM AND BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the I4 spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the A35 ECM connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      for 8AR-FTS
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I4-7 (CCS) - A35-55 (CCS) Always Below 1 Ω
      I4-2 (ECC) - A35-41 (ECCS) Always Below 1 Ω
      I4-7 (CCS) or A35-55 (CCS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I4-2 (ECC) or A35-41 (ECCS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      for 3ZR-FAE
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I4-7 (CCS) - A35-36 (CCS) Always Below 1 Ω
      I4-2 (ECC) - A35-35 (ECCS) Always Below 1 Ω
      I4-7 (CCS) or A35-36 (CCS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I4-2 (ECC) or A35-35 (ECCS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Connect the A35 ECM connector.

    5. Connect the I4 spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly connector.
