EXHAUST MANIFOLD REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

  1. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (TWC: Rear Catalyst)

    1. A197844

      Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor connector and clamp.

    2. A195965

      Remove the 4 bolts and 2 compression springs.

    3. Remove the front exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst) and 2 gaskets.

  2. REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR

  3. REMOVE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the oil level dipstick sub-assembly.

    2. A195955

      Remove the bolt, oil level dipstick guide sub-assembly and O-ring.

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR

    1. A231674

      Remove the 2 nuts, bolt and No. 1 exhaust manifold heat insulator from the exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly (TWC: Front Catalyst).

  5. REMOVE NO. 2 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR

    1. A247554

      Remove the 2 bolts and No. 2 exhaust manifold heat insulator from the exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly (TWC: Front Catalyst).

  6. REMOVE MANIFOLD STAY

    1. A247556

      Remove the bolt, nut and manifold stay.

  7. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD CONVERTER SUB-ASSEMBLY (TWC: Front Catalyst)

    1. A235360

      Remove the 7 nuts and exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly (TWC: Front Catalyst).

    2. A195960

      Remove the exhaust manifold to head gasket and inlet EGR gasket.
