MANUAL TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note:

When the manual transaxle assembly is removed, be sure to use a new clutch release with bearing cylinder assembly and new installation bolts. Removal of the manual transaxle assembly allows the compressed clutch release with bearing cylinder assembly to return to its original position. Dust from the moving section may damage the seal of the clutch release with bearing cylinder assembly, possibly causing clutch fluid leaks.

  1. REMOVE ENGINE ASSEMBLY WITH TRANSAXLE

  2. REMOVE FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR

  3. REMOVE REAR ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR

  4. REMOVE WATER HOSE

  5. REMOVE FLYWHEEL HOUSING SIDE COVER (w/ Stop And Start System)

  7. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY (w/ Stop And Start System)

  9. DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS (w/ Stop And Start System)

      Back-up Light Switch Assembly Connector

      Neutral Position Switch Connector

      Fuel Pressure Sensor Connector

      Disconnect the back-up light switch assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the fuel pressure sensor connector.

    3. Disconnect the neutral position switch connector.

    4. Disengage the 3 clamps and disconnect the wire harness from the manual transaxle assembly.

  10. DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS (w/o Stop And Start System)

      Back-up Light Switch Assembly Connector

      Fuel Pressure Sensor Connector

      Disconnect the back-up light switch assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the fuel pressure sensor connector.

    3. Disengage the 2 clamps and disconnect the wire harness from the manual transaxle assembly.

  11. REMOVE DRIVE SHAFT HEAT INSULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY

  13. REMOVE MANUAL TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 7 bolts and manual transaxle assembly from the engine assembly.

  14. REMOVE FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET

    1. C276879

      Remove the 4 bolts and front engine mounting bracket from the front transaxle case.

  15. REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET LH

      Remove the 4 bolts and engine mounting bracket LH from the manual transmission case.

  16. REMOVE REAR ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET

    1. C193790

      Remove the 4 bolts and rear engine mounting bracket from the front transaxle case.

  17. REMOVE BLEEDER CLUTCH RELEASE TUBE

  18. REMOVE CLUTCH FLEXIBLE HOSE BRACKET

      Remove the bolt and clutch flexible hose bracket from the manual transmission case.

  19. REMOVE CLUTCH RELEASE BLEEDER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  20. REMOVE CLUTCH RELEASE WITH BEARING CYLINDER ASSEMBLY

  21. REMOVE CLUTCH RELEASE CYLINDER TO BLEEDER TUBE

  22. REMOVE NO. 1 HEATER BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. C327451

      Remove the bolt and No. 1 heater bracket sub-assembly from the manual transmission case.

  23. REMOVE SPEEDOMETER DRIVEN HOLE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. C200883

      Remove the bolt and speedometer driven hole cover sub-assembly from the front transaxle case.

    2. Remove the O-ring from the speedometer driven hole cover sub-assembly.
