PROCEDURE

  1. INSPECT COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY WITH PULLEY (COMPRESSOR SOLENOID)

      Component without harness connected

      (Compressor Assembly with Pulley)

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection

      Condition

      Specified Condition

      2 (SOL+) - 1 (SOL-)

      20°C (68°F)

      10.1 to 11.1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, replace the compressor assembly with pulley.

  2. INSPECT MAGNET CLUTCH ASSEMBLY (w/ Magnet Clutch)

      (Magnet Clutch Assembly)

      Inspect the resistance of the lock sensor.

      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance

        Tester Connection

        Condition

        Specified Condition

        1 (SSR+) - 2 (SSR-)

        20°C (68°F)

        160 to 320 Ω at 20°C (68°F)

        If the result is not as specified, replace the cooler compressor assembly.

      (Magnet Clutch Assembly)

      Inspect the operation of the magnet clutch.

      1. Connect the positive (+) lead of the 12 V battery to terminal 3 (MG+) of the connector and the negative (-) lead to the body ground and check that an operating noise can be heard and that the magnet clutch hub and rotor lock.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the cooler compressor assembly.
