MONOLITHIC CONVERTER REMOVAL
PROCEDURE
REMOVE ENGINE ASSEMBLY
REMOVE NO. 4 MANIFOLD CONVERTER INSULATOR

Remove the 4 bolts and No. 4 manifold converter insulator.

REMOVE MANIFOLD CONVERTER INSULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY
-
Remove the bolt and manifold converter insulator sub-assembly.
-
REMOVE MANIFOLD STAY
-
Remove the bolt, nut and manifold stay.
-
REMOVE NO. 2 MANIFOLD STAY
-
Remove the 3 bolts and No. 2 manifold stay.
-
REMOVE NO. 2 EXHAUST MANIFOLD STAY
-
Remove the 2 bolts, nut and No. 2 exhaust manifold stay.
-
REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD CONVERTER SUB-ASSEMBLY
Disconnect the No. 2 exhaust gas temperature sensor connector and No. 3 exhaust gas temperature sensor connector.
-
Remove the 3 nuts and exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly.
Remove the gasket from the turbocharger sub-assembly.
REMOVE VACUUM TRANSMITTING HOSE ASSEMBLY
Slide the clamp and disconnect the vacuum transmitting hose assembly from the No. 1 vacuum pipe.
REMOVE NO. 2 VACUUM TRANSMITTING HOSE ASSEMBLY
Slide the clamp and disconnect the No. 2 vacuum transmitting hose assembly from the No. 2 vacuum pipe.
REMOVE EXHAUST GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR
REMOVE NO. 2 EXHAUST GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR
REMOVE NO. 3 EXHAUST GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR
REMOVE NO. 1 VACUUM PIPE

Using a 17 mm union nut wrench, loosen the union nut.
Remove the bolt and No. 1 vacuum pipe.

REMOVE NO. 2 VACUUM PIPE
-
Using a 14 mm union nut wrench, loosen the union nut.
Remove the bolt and No. 2 vacuum pipe.
-
REMOVE NO. 2 MANIFOLD CONVERTER INSULATOR
-
Remove the 3 bolts and No. 2 manifold converter insulator.
