ASC SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK


  1. INSPECT ASC SYSTEM OPERATION

    CAUTION:

    Check for safety before performing any tests.

    Tech Tips

    If the drive mode is changed to ECO mode while the ASC system operating, simulated engine sounds will stop.


    1. Idling sound inspection


      1. Start the engine.

      2. Turn the vehicle sound switch on.

      3. Select NORMAL or SPORT mode.

      4. When either of the following conditions is met, check that the idling sound is output.


        • Shift lever in P, the accelerator pedal is depressed.

        • The shift lever is in D, S or R and the vehicle is being driven at below 10 km/h (6 mph) when accelerating and at 8 km/h (5 mph) or less when decelerating.

    2. Driving sound inspection


      1. Start the engine.

      2. Turn the vehicle sound switch on.

      3. Select NORMAL or SPORT mode.

      4. Move the shift lever to D, S or R and drive the vehicle at 10 km/h (6 mph) or more. According to the driving conditions (vehicle speed, accelerator pedal opening angle, etc.), check that simulated driving sounds resembling transmission up shifts and down shifts can be heard.
