  1. INSPECT REAR WINDOW DEFOGGER SWITCH ASSEMBLY

    (Rear Window Defogger Switch Assembly)

    1. Check the illumination area of the switch.

      Standard measurement
      Measurement Condition Specified Condition

      Battery positive (+) → 1 (ILL+)

      Battery negative (-) → 2 (ILL+)

      		 Illuminates

      If the result is not as specified, replace the rear window defogger switch assembly.

      Tech Tips

      The ON/OFF indicator of the switch will not illuminate.

      Check ON/OFF indicator of the switch.


      1. Push the switch several times. Check that the ON/OFF indicator illuminates or turns off according to switch operation.

        Standard measurement
        Measurement Condition Specified Condition Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → 5 (IG)

        Battery negative (-) → 3 (E)

        		 Defogger switch ON Illuminates

        If the result is not as specified, replace the rear window defogger switch assembly.

        Tech Tips

        The illumination area of the switch will not illuminate.

      Measure the resistance of the switch.

      Standard resistance
      Measurement Condition Specified Condition Specified Condition
      4 (D) - 3 (E) ON Below 1 Ω
      4 (D) - 3 (E) OFF 10 kΩ or higher

      If the result is not as specified, replace the rear window defogger switch assembly.
