RADIATOR REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

  1. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM

  2. PRECAUTION

    Note:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work.

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  4. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM POSITIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

  6. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

    Click here

  7. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER COVER

    Click here

  8. REMOVE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY

  9. REMOVE FRONT LOWER BUMPER ABSORBER

      Remove the 4 screws and front lower bumper absorber.

  10. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER

  11. REMOVE BATTERY CLAMP SUB-ASSEMBLY

  12. REMOVE BATTERY INSULATOR

  13. REMOVE BATTERY

  14. REMOVE BATTERY TRAY

  15. REMOVE FRONT BATTERY BRACKET

  16. REMOVE BATTERY BRACKET REINFORCEMENT

  17. REMOVE LOW PITCHED HORN ASSEMBLY

  18. REMOVE HIGH PITCHED HORN ASSEMBLY

  19. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER CENTER STAY SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 2 bolts, clip and front bumper center stay sub-assembly.

  20. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER UPPER REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the 2 bolts and front bumper upper reinforcement sub-assembly.

  21. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR AIR GUIDE PLATE

    1. A362601

      Remove the 6 clips and upper radiator air guide plate.

  22. REMOVE LOWER RADIATOR AIR GUIDE PLATE

    1. A362602

      Detach 3 claws and remove the lower radiator air guide plate.

  23. DISCONNECT AMBIENT THERMISTOR ASSEMBLY

    1. A297519

      Detach the clamp to disconnect the ambient thermistor assembly.

  24. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER REINFORCEMENT

  25. DISCONNECT DISCHARGE HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the discharge hose sub-assembly from the cooler condenser assembly.

    2. Remove the O-ring from the discharge hose sub-assembly.

      Note:

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent entry of moisture and foreign matter.

  26. DISCONNECT LIQUID TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the liquid tube sub-assembly from the cooler condenser assembly.

    2. Remove the O-ring from the liquid tube sub-assembly.

      Note:

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent entry of moisture and foreign matter.

  27. REMOVE FRONT RADIATOR SIDE AIR GUIDE PLATE RH

    1. A362605

      Detach 3 claws and remove the front radiator side air guide plate RH.

  28. REMOVE REAR RADIATOR SIDE AIR GUIDE PLATE RH

    1. A295920

      Remove the 2 clips and rear radiator side air guide plate RH.

  29. REMOVE FRONT RADIATOR SIDE AIR GUIDE PLATE LH

      Detach 3 claws and remove the front radiator side air guide plate LH.

  30. REMOVE REAR RADIATOR SIDE AIR GUIDE PLATE LH

      Remove the 2 clips and rear radiator side air guide plate LH.

  31. DISCONNECT NO. 2 VACUUM TRANSMITTING HOSE ASSEMBLY

    1. Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 2 vacuum transmitting hose assembly from the intake manifold.

  32. REMOVE NO. 1 RADIATOR SUPPORT

      Remove the 2 bolts and 2 No. 1 radiator supports.

    2. Remove the 2 radiator support cushions.

  33. REMOVE NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

    1. A295970

      Slide the 2 clamps and disconnect the No. 1 water by-pass hose from the radiator reservoir assembly and radiator hose sub-assembly.

    2. Detach the hose clamp from the upper radiator support.

    3. Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the water by-pass hose clamp bracket from the upper radiator support.

  34. DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS

    1. A362591

      w/ Towing Package:

      Disconnect the 3 connector and detach the 11 clamps.

    2. A295922

      w/o Towing Package:

      Disconnect the 4 connector and detach the 13 clamps.

  35. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY

  36. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT

    1. A295967

      Remove the 4 bolts and upper radiator support.

  37. DISCONNECT RADIATOR HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  38. DISCONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE

    Click here

  39. REMOVE INTERCOOLER AIR HOSE

    1. A295921

      Loosen the 2 hose clamps.

    2. Remove the intercooler air hose from the No. 1 air tube and intercooler assembly.

  40. REMOVE NO. 3 AIR HOSE

    Click here

  41. REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY

      for Automatic Transaxle

      1. Detach the hose clamp from the oil cooler hose sub-assembly.

      2. Slide the 3 hose clips and disconnect the 3 oil cooler hoses.

    2. Remove the radiator assembly and 2 cushions.

  42. REMOVE NO. 2 RADIATOR SUPPORT

      Remove the 4 bolts and 2 No. 2 radiator supports.

  43. REMOVE COOLER CONDENSER ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the cooler condenser assembly.

  44. REMOVE NO. 2 VACUUM TRANSMITTING HOSE ASSEMBLY

    1. Detach the 4 clamps from the fan shroud and No. 2 air tube.

      Slide the 2 clips and remove the No. 2 vacuum transmitting hose assembly from the intercooler assembly and No. 2 air tube.

  45. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR TUBE

    1. A295973

      Loosen the hose clamp.

    2. Remove the bolt and No. 2 air tube from the intercooler assembly.

  46. REMOVE RADIATOR HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. A295974

      Disconnect the 2 clamps from the fan shroud.

    2. Slide the 2 clamps and remove the radiator hose sub-assembly from the radiator assembly.

  47. REMOVE NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE

    1. Slide the clamp and remove the No. 2 radiator hose from the radiator assembly.

  48. REMOVE OIL COOLER TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle)

      Slide the 2 clips and disconnect the 2 oil cooler hoses from the radiator assembly.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and oil cooler tube sub-assembly from the fan shroud.

  49. REMOVE LOWER RADIATOR SUPPORT

  51. REMOVE FAN SHROUD
