The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization, or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed, or replaced during the throttle body with motor assembly removal/installation are shown below.

PROCEDURE

Note
After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.
DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT
SEPARATE CENTER NO. 1 COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
Note
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
REMOVE BATTERY
REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY
Disconnect the mass air flow meter sub-assembly connector and disengage the 2 wire harness clamps.

Disengage the 2 air cleaner cap clamps.
Open the air cleaner cap sub-assembly and remove the air cleaner filter element sub-assembly from the air cleaner case sub-assembly.
Disengage the 2 guides to separate the air cleaner cap sub-assembly from the air cleaner case sub-assembly.
Loosen the hose clamp and remove the air cleaner cap sub-assembly from the air cleaner hose assembly.
REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY
Disengage the clamp.
Remove the 3 bolts and air cleaner case sub-assembly.
REMOVE AIR CLEANER HOSE ASSEMBLY
Disengage the No. 2 fuel vapor feed hose from the air cleaner hose assembly.
Disengage the purge valve (purge VSV) from the air cleaner hose assembly.
Slide the clip and disconnect the ventilation hose from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly.
Loosen the hose clamp and remove the air cleaner hose assembly from the throttle body with motor assembly.
REMOVE THROTTLE BODY WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY

Disconnect the throttle body with motor assembly connector.
Disengage the fuel tube sub-assembly and breather plug hose from the fuel hose bracket.
Remove the bolt and fuel hose bracket from the throttle body with motor assembly.
Remove the 4 bolts and throttle body with motor assembly from the intake manifold.
Note
If the throttle body with motor assembly has been struck or dropped, replace it.

Slide the 2 clips and disconnect the No. 1 water by-pass hose and No. 2 water by-pass hose from the throttle body with motor assembly.
REMOVE THROTTLE BODY GASKET
Remove the throttle body gasket from the intake manifold.
