MULTI-MODE MANUAL TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

  1. CLUTCH POSITION ADJUSTMENT

  2. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

    Click here

  3. DRAIN MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL

    Click here

  4. DISCONNECT FRONT FENDER LINER LH

      Bolt
      V100136

      Screw

      Remove the 2 screws and 3 bolts to disconnect the front fender liner LH.

  5. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

  6. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  7. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY WITH DUCT

    Click here

  8. REMOVE CLUTCH ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  9. DISCONNECT NO. 3 ENGINE WIRE

      Disengage the clamp to disconnect the No. 3 engine wire from the wire harness clamp bracket.

    2. C303538

      Remove the bolt and disconnect the No. 3 engine wire from the multi-mode manual transaxle assembly.

  10. DISCONNECT ENGINE ROOM MAIN WIRE

      Select Stroke Sensor Connector

      Park/Neutral Position Switch Assembly Connector

      Disconnect the select stroke sensor connector.

    2. Disconnect the park/neutral position switch assembly connector.

      Disengage the 3 clamps to disconnect the engine room main wire.

  11. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE

      Shift Stroke Sensor Connector

      Back-up Light Switch Assembly Connector

      *c

      Transmission Revolution Sensor Connector

      Disconnect the shift stroke sensor connector.

    2. Disconnect the back-up light switch assembly connector.

    3. Disconnect the transmission revolution sensor connector.

      Disengage the 4 clamps to disconnect the engine wire.

      Disengage the 2 clamps to disconnect the engine wire.

      Remove the bolt and wire harness clamp bracket from the shift and select actuator assembly.

      Disconnect the 2 shift and select actuator assembly connectors.

  12. REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET

      Remove the 3 bolts and 3 wire harness clamp brackets from the multi-mode manual transaxle assembly.

  13. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY

  14. REMOVE FLYWHEEL HOUSING SIDE COVER

    Click here

  15. SUPPORT ENGINE ASSEMBLY

    1. Support the engine assembly with an engine lifter.

  16. REMOVE ENGINE MOVING CONTROL ROD

    1. Remove the 2 bolts and engine moving control rod.

  17. DISCONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE

  18. REMOVE FAN SHROUD ASSEMBLY

  19. REMOVE ENGINE MOVING CONTROL ROD BRACKET

    1. Remove the 3 bolts and the engine moving control rod bracket.

  20. SUPPORT MULTI-MODE MANUAL TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY

    1. Support the multi-mode manual transaxle assembly with a transmission jack.

  21. REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR LH

    1. C303166

      Remove the 3 bolts from the engine mounting bracket LH.

    2. C303168

      Remove the bolt and wire harness clamp bracket.

    3. C303167

      Remove the 3 bolts and engine mounting insulator LH.

  22. REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET LH

    1. C303169

      Remove the 4 bolts and engine mounting bracket LH from the multi-mode manual transaxle assembly.

  23. REMOVE MULTI-MODE MANUAL TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY

    1. C303307

      Remove the 4 bolts.

    2. C303308

      Remove the 5 bolts and multi-mode manual transaxle assembly from the engine assembly.

      Note:

      • To prevent damage to the 2 knock pins, do not pry between the multi-mode manual transaxle assembly and engine assembly.

      • Do not apply excessive force to the multi-mode manual transaxle assembly as this will break the input shaft.

      • Be careful not to damage the radiator assembly when removing the multi-mode manual transaxle assembly.
