TRANSFER OIL REPLACEMENT

PROCEDURE

1. AIR SUSPENSION CONTROL PROHIBITED (w/ Air Suspension)

2. DRAIN TRANSFER OIL

   
   
   1. 

      *1	Transfer Filler Plug
      *2	Transfer Drain Plug

      Using a 10 mm hexagon wrench, remove the transfer filler plug and transfer filler plug gasket.

   2. Using a 10 mm hexagon wrench, remove the transfer drain plug and transfer drain plug gasket, and drain the transfer oil.

   3. Using a 10 mm socket hexagon wrench, install a new transfer drain plug gasket and the transfer drain plug.

      Torque:

      49 N*m  { 500 kgf*cm, 36 ft.*lbf }

3. ADD TRANSFER OIL

   
   

   1. Add transfer oil.

      Oil grade
      Toyota Genuine Transfer gear oil LL 80 or equivalent
      Standard capacity
      0.7 liters (0.7 US qts, 0.6 Imp. qts)

   2. 

      *a	0 to 5 mm (0 to 0.196 in.)

      Inspect the transfer oil quantity.

      Standard Capacity
      Within 0 to 5 mm (0 to 0.196 in.) from the bottom lip of the transfer filler plug opening

   3. Using a 10 mm socket hexagon wrench, install a new transfer filler plug gasket and the transfer filler plug.

      Torque:

      49 N*m  { 500 kgf*cm, 36 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Drive the vehicle and check the oil level again.
