DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) and windshield wiper motor assembly communicate via LIN communication. The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) stores this DTC if communication becomes abnormal.

  • If the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) is replaced, refer to Service Bulletin.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK FOR DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Click here


      Body Electrical > Main Body > Clear DTCs
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and wait for at least 10 seconds.

    3. Check for DTCs.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY - BATTERY)


    1. Disconnect the A43 windshield wiper motor assembly connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      for LHD
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A43-6 (+B) - Body ground Approximately 60 seconds have elapsed after engine switch is turned off Below 1 V
      Engine switch on (IG) or within approximately 60 seconds of engine switch being turned off 11 to 14 V

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    1. Disconnect the G13 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.

    2. Disconnect the A43 windshield wiper motor assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      for LHD

      G13-3 (LIN3) - A43-7 (LIN) Always Below 1 Ω

  5. INSPECT WINDSHIELD WIPER RELAY ASSEMBLY (WIPER NO. 1)


    1. Remove the windshield wiper relay assembly (WIPER NO. 1) from engine room relay block.

    2. Inspect the windshield wiper relay assembly (WIPER NO. 1).

    1. Remove the windshield wiper relay assembly (WIPER NO. 1) form engine room relay block.

    2. Disconnect the G12 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.

    3. Disconnect the A43 windshield wiper motor assembly connector.

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
