BRAKE PEDAL(for LHD) INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

  1. INSTALL BRAKE PEDAL SUPPORT ASSEMBLY

    1. Install the nut to the brake pedal support assembly.

      Install the brake pedal support assembly with the 4 nuts.

      16 N*m

      163 kgf*cm

      12 ft.*lbf

      Note:

      Tighten the 4 nuts in the order shown in the illustration.

    3. Install the bolt to secure the brake pedal support assembly to the vehicle body.

      14 N*m

      143 kgf*cm

      10 ft.*lbf

    4. Engage the wire harness clamp to the stud bolt of the brake booster assembly.

    5. Install the bolt to secure the brake pedal support assembly to the instrument panel reinforcement assembly.

    6. Engage the 2 wire harness clamps (b, c) to the brake pedal support assembly.

    7. for Manual Transaxle:

      1. Connect the connector (B) to the clutch switch assembly and engage the wire harness clamp (a).

      2. Connect the connector (A) to the clutch start switch assembly or connector housing.

  2. INSTALL PUSH ROD PIN

      Lithium Soap Base Glycol Grease

      Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to the push rod pin and installation hole of the brake pedal support assembly.

    2. C302701

      Connect the brake master cylinder push rod clevis to the brake pedal support assembly with the push rod pin as shown in the illustration and install a new clip.

      Note:

      Install the push rod pin in the correct direction.

  3. INSTALL CLUTCH PEDAL SPRING (for Manual Transaxle)

      Lithium Soap Base Glycol Grease

      Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to the hole of the brake pedal support assembly where the clutch pedal spring is installed as shown in the illustration.

    2. Install the clutch pedal spring to the brake pedal support assembly.

  4. CONNECT CLUTCH RELEASE CABLE ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle)

      Lithium Soap Base Glycol Grease

      Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to the clutch pedal sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

    2. Connect the clutch release cable assembly to the clutch pedal sub-assembly.

    3. Connect the clutch release cable assembly to the manual transaxle assembly.

  5. INSTALL STOP LIGHT SWITCH MOUNTING ADJUSTER

  6. INSTALL STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY

  8. INSPECT AND ADJUST CLUTCH PEDAL (for Manual Transaxle)
