FRONT SUSPENSION SYSTEM

  1. CONSTRUCTION

    1. A low-pressure (N2) gas sealed front shock absorber assembly is used to achieve both driving stability and riding comfort.

    2. Internal friction has been reduced, thus allowing the absorber rod to move smoothly.

    3. The initial characteristic of the rebound stopper is set soft in order to ensure comfort when driving over a bump on models for G.C.C. countries and general countries.

    4. A rebound spring is used to reduce roll angle and improve roll posture on models for Australia and Europe.

      Tech Tips

To prevent hazardous conditions, make sure to empty the gas from the front shock absorber assembly before discarding the low-pressure (N2) gas sealed in the front shock absorber assembly. For details, refer to the Repair Manual.

    5. The built-in rebound spring is designed to function with the suspension spring in order to restrain suspension extension during rebound. Also, in order to achieve a soft and comfortable ride, only the suspension springs are used when the suspension stroke is small during normal driving. However, when cornering, load is removed from the inner wheels, the functions of both the rebound spring and the suspension spring interact and the extension of the suspension is restrained. As a result, the vehicle has excellent maneuverability and stability.
