LIGHTING SYSTEM


  1. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENTS

    Component Function
    Main Body ECU (Multiplex Network Body ECU)
    • Receives various signals and turns off the exterior lights*1.

    • Receives various signals and transmits the exterior light control signal*2.

    Headlight ECU Sub-assembly LH/RH*2 Shuts down power to the headlights and clearance lights.

    No. 1 Engine Room Relay Block and No. 1 Junction Block Assembly


    • H-LP LH Relay*1

    • H-LP RH Relay*1

    Shuts down power to the headlights.

    No. 1 Engine Room Relay Block and No. 1 Junction Block Assembly


    • FOG FR Relay*3

    Shuts down power to the front fog lights.

    Instrument Panel Junction Block Assembly


    • TAIL Relay

    • FOG RR Relay*4

    Shuts down power to the clearance lights*1, taillights, rear fog light*4, rear side marker lights*5 and license plate lights.

    Turn Signal Switch


    • Light Control Switch

    Outputs a light control switch signal.
    Front Door Courtesy Light Switch Assembly (LH*6/RH*7) Detects whether a driver door is open or closed and transmits a signal to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).
    Steering Sensor Receives light control switch signal from the turn signal switch and transmits it to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).

  2. SYSTEM CONTROL


    1. Operating Condition


      1. The light auto turn-off system operates as follows:

        Function Outline
        Driver Door-linked

        When all of the following conditions are met, the exterior lights automatically turn off:


        • The ignition switch is turned off.

        • The light control switch is in the tail position.

        • The driver door is closed and then opened.

        Delay Function

        When all of the following conditions are met, the exterior lights automatically turn off after 30 seconds:


        • The ignition switch is turned off.

        • The low beam headlights are on (light control switch is in the head or AUTO position).

        • All doors are closed after any of the doors are opened.

        Key-linked Function

        When the delay function is active and the following condition is met, the exterior lights turn off immediately:


        • The lock button on the key is pushed after all doors are locked.
