DYNAMIC RADAR CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM, Diagnostic DTC:C1A11, C1A14

DTC Code DTC Name
C1A11 Front Radar Sensor Incorrect Axial Gap
C1A14 Front Radar Sensor Beam Axis Not Adjusted

DESCRIPTION

The driving support ECU assembly uses the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly to detect obstacles in front of the vehicle.

When the vehicle is determined to be driving in a straight line or on a gradual curve based on signals from the yaw rate sensor, the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly performs self diagnosis to check if the sensor beam axis is deviated from the vehicle movement direction. When the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly beam axis is not adjusted correctly, the driving support ECU assembly detects this, and DTC C1A11 is stored.

After installing a new millimeter wave radar sensor assembly, if sensor beam axis adjustment is not performed, DTC C1A14 is stored.

DTC No. DTC Detection Condition Trouble Area
C1A11 While power switch is on (IG) and after driving at approximately 50 km/h (31 mph) for 10 hours, driving support ECU assembly determines that aim of front millimeter wave radar sensor beam axis is not adjusted correctly or more while the dynamic radar cruise control is operating
  • Millimeter wave radar sensor assembly

  • Driving support ECU assembly

C1A14 Driving at 10 km/h (6 mph) or more while front millimeter wave radar sensor axis adjustment has not been performed or more while the dynamic radar cruise control is operating
  • Millimeter wave radar sensor assembly

  • Driving support ECU assembly

  2. CHECK FOR DTCs (C1A11 OR C1A14)

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    4. Perform the following to make sure that the DTC detection conditions are met.

      Tech Tips

If the detection conditions are not met, the malfunction cannot be detected.

      1. Drive the vehicle at a speed of between approximately 50 km/h (30 mph) and 170 km/h (105 mph).

      2. Turn the cruise control system on using the cruise control switch (ON-OFF button).

      3. Push the cruise control switch to -/SET to begin control of vehicle speed using the cruise control system.

    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Radar Cruise / Trouble Codes.

    6. Check for DTCs.
