MONITOR DESCRIPTION

The ECM monitors the signals received from the throttle position sensor No. 1 and stop light switch assembly. As the ECM monitors the STP signal of the stop light switch assembly and the throttle position sensor No. 1, if these signals do not correlate, the DTC is stored.

1. Difference of main throttle position and sub throttle position

0.3 V or higher

2. Stop light switch signal (CPU) and stop light switch signal (Monitor IC)

CONFIRMATION DRIVING PATTERN

  1. Turn the ignition switch off.

  2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal and wait for 1 minute.

  3. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

  4. Turn the ignition switch to ON and wait for 16 seconds or more.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Tip:

Read freeze frame data using the GTS. The ECM records vehicle and driving condition information as freeze frame data the moment a DTC is stored. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed up or not, if the air fuel ratio was lean or rich, and other data from the time the malfunction occurred.

PROCEDURE

  1. READ OUTPUT DTC (DTC P060E)

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Clear the DTCs.

      Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Clear DTCs

    5. Turn the ignition switch off and turn the GTS off.

    6. Disconnect the GTS.

    7. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal and wait for 1 minute.

    8. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

    9. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    10. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    11. Turn the GTS on.

    12. Wait 16 seconds or more.

    13. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.

    14. Read the DTCs.
