LIGHTING SYSTEM Interior Light Auto Cut Circuit

DESCRIPTION

When battery saving control operates while the interior lights are on, the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) opens the light cut relay to turn off the lights.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.

    5. Check that the relay operates.

      Light cut relay operates.

  2. INSPECT LIGHT CUT RELAY


    1. Remove the light cut relay.

    2. Inspect the light cut relay Click here

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AUXILIARY BATTERY - LIGHT CUT RELAY)


    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Relay terminal 2 - Body ground Power switch off 11 to 14 V

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LIGHT CUT RELAY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the 2A instrument panel junction block assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Relay terminal 1 - 2A-20 Always Below 1 Ω
      Relay terminal 1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  5. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the instrument panel junction block assembly Click here

    2. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly.
