AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM, Diagnostic DTC:B1441/41

DTC Code DTC Name
B1441/41 Air Mix Damper Control Servo Motor Circuit (Passenger Side)

DESCRIPTION

The No. 1 air conditioning radiator damper servo sub-assembly (front passenger side air mix) sends pulse signals to indicate the damper position to the air conditioning amplifier assembly. The air conditioning amplifier assembly activates the motor (normal or reverse) based on these signals to move the No. 1 air conditioning radiator damper servo sub-assembly (front passenger side air mix) to the appropriate position. This adjusts the amount of air passing through the heater core after passing the evaporator and controls the temperature of the output air.

Tip:
  • Confirm that no mechanical problem is present because this diagnostic code can be output when either a damper link or the damper is mechanically locked.

  • When DTC B1441/41 and DTC B1497/97 are output simultaneously, first perform troubleshooting for DTC B1497/97.

PROCEDURE

  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (AIR MIX SERVO TARG PULSE[P], AIR MIX SERVO ACTUAL PULSE[P])

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Operate the front passenger side temperature adjustment switch.
