ENGINE UNIT REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

  1. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY

  2. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD

    Click here

  3. REMOVE AIR TUBE

    Click here

  4. REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET

    Click here

  5. REMOVE FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  6. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  7. REMOVE FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  8. REMOVE ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE

      Remove the engine oil level dipstick.

    2. Remove the bolt and dipstick guide.

    3. Remove the O-ring from the dipstick guide.

  9. REMOVE NO. 1 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR

  10. REMOVE DRIVE SHAFT HEAT INSULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY

  11. REMOVE MANIFOLD STAY

    Click here

  12. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD

    Click here

  13. REMOVE NO. 1 IDLER PULLEY SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/o Air Conditioning System)

      Remove the bolt, 2 idler pulley cover plates and No. 1 idler pulley sub-assembly.

  14. REMOVE IDLER PULLEY BRACKET (w/o Air Conditioning System)

      Remove the 2 nuts, bolt and idler pulley bracket.

  15. REMOVE VENTILATION HOSE

    1. Remove the ventilation hose from the ventilation valve.

  16. DISCONNECT NO. 3 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

  17. REMOVE WATER BY-PASS HOSE

      Remove the clamp and water by-pass hose.

  18. REMOVE WATER INLET HOSE

    1. A154919

      Remove the 2 clamps and water inlet hose.

  19. REMOVE NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS PIPE

    1. A154918

      Remove the 2 bolts and water by-pass pipe.

  20. REMOVE WATER INLET

  21. REMOVE THERMOSTAT

    Click here

  22. REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  23. REMOVE VACUUM PUMP ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  24. REMOVE NO. 1 VACUUM PUMP BRACKET

      Remove the 2 bolts, vacuum pump bracket and gasket.

  25. REMOVE ENGINE OIL TEMPERATURE SENSOR

  26. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT TENSIONER ASSEMBLY

    1. Rotate the V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly clockwise and remove the 5 mm hexagon wrench that was used to secure the V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly when removing the V-ribbed belt.

      Rotate the V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly slightly clockwise and secure it using a 3 mm hexagon wrench as shown in the illustration.

      Tip:

      It is difficult to install the V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly when it is fully extended. When reusing the V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly, compress and secure the V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly before removing it.

      Remove the 2 bolts and V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly from the engine assembly.
