DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) controls the operation of the following lights:


Tech Tips

The light cut relay supplies power to the lights not controlled by the illuminated entry system. If all of the lights that use power from the light cut relay do not turn on, check the light cut relay circuit first Click here.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.

    5. Check that the lights operate.

      Main Body

      Illuminated Entry System Personal light and No. 1 room light assembly ON/OFF Interior light door switch on and all doors closed
      OK
      Each light fades in.

    OK

  2. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the map light assembly Click here.

    2. Inspect the map light assembly Click here.

      OK
      Map light assembly is normal.

    NG

    REPLACE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY Click here

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the 2A instrument panel junction block assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      U3-6 (CTY) - 2A-52*1 Always Below 1 Ω
      U3-6 (CTY) - Body ground*1 Always 10 kΩ or higher
      U3-16 (CTY) - 2A-52*2 Always Below 1 Ω
      U3-16 (CTY) - Body ground*2 Always 10 kΩ or higher

      • *1: for LHD

      • *2: for RHD


    NG

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  4. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the instrument panel junction block assembly Click here.
