OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH

   
   

   1. Inspect the operation of the mirror surface.

      
      
      1.

         *a	Component without harness connected (Outer Rear View Mirror Assembly LH)

         Disconnect the outer rear view mirror assembly LH connector.

      2. Apply auxiliary battery voltage and check the operation of the mirror.

         OK

         Measurement Condition Specified Condition Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 6 (MV) Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 5 (M+) Turns upward Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 5 (M+) Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 6 (MV) Turns downward Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 4 (MH) Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 5 (M+) Turns left Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 5 (M+) Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 4 (MH) Turns right

         If the result is not as specified, replace the outer rear view mirror assembly LH.

   2. Check the mirror heater.

         Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

         Standard Resistance
         Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 3 (HL+) - 8 (HL-) 25°C (77°F) 7.6 to 11.4 Ω

         If the result is not as specified, replace the outer rear view mirror assembly LH.

2. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR RETRACTOR LH

   
   

   1. Inspect the operation of the retractable mirror.

      Note

      
      

      • Disconnect and reconnect the auxiliary battery between each mirror position check.

      • The mirror position cannot be changed manually when the auxiliary battery is connected. To change the mirror position manually, the auxiliary battery must be disconnected first.

         Disconnect the outer rear view mirror assembly LH connector.

      2. For each position: Disconnect the auxiliary battery, set the mirror position by hand, connect the auxiliary battery, and check the retractable mirror's movement.

         OK

3. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH

   
   

   1. Inspect the operation of the mirror surface.

         Disconnect the outer rear view mirror assembly RH connector.

      2. Apply auxiliary battery voltage and check the operation of the mirror.

         OK
