8GR-FKS BATTERY INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL BATTERY

   
   
   1. 

      	Install battery in this direction
      *a	Slope

      Lower the battery along the slope to install it as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      As the battery is very heavy, handle it with caution. If it is dropped or subjected to any strong impacts, replace it with a new one.

   2. Install the battery.

   3. Connect the battery exhaust hose to the battery.

      Note

      After replacing the battery, install the ventilation hole plug supplied with the new battery or the ventilation hole plug from the old battery to the ventilation hole on the side to which the battery hose is not connected.

   4. Install the battery clamp sub-assembly with the 2 nuts.

      Torque:

      8.5 N*m  { 87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf }

   5. Connect the cable to the positive (+) battery terminal and tighten the nut.

      Torque:

      5.4 N*m  { 55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf }

   6. Attach the claw to connect the battery terminal cap.

   7. Connect the clamp spring assembly of the positive (+) battery terminal to the battery as shown in the illustration.

      

      *1	Battery	*2	Clamp Spring Assembly
      	Push the clamp spring assembly in this direction	-	-

2. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

   
   

   1. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal and tighten the nut.

      Torque:

      6.4 N*m  { 65 kgf*cm, 57 in.*lbf }

      Note

      When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
