ENGINE UNIT

  1. CONSTRUCTION

    1. A dual-chamber oil pan sub-assembly, which isolates some of the engine oil, is used to reduce the volume of engine oil in circulation. Also, the engine oil in the external chamber not being circulated is used as heat insulation to improve heat insulation performance against the ambient temperature and quickly heat circulating engine oil to reduce friction and improve fuel economy.

    2. A structure is used which mixes the engine oil in the internal and external chambers through the connecting hole when the engine is stopped. As a result, all engine oil is kept at the same quality to prevent only the circulating engine oil from deteriorating.

    3. The shape of the internal oil pan has been optimized to improve oil return performance and reduce the volume of circulating engine oil.

    4. A No. 1 oil pan baffle plate provided in the upper part of the oil pan suppresses engine oil agitation to reduce friction and improve fuel economy.

    5. A concave shape is provided on the bottom of the oil pan drain plug installation area to improve serviceability by reducing the area engine oil may spray onto when draining engine oil.
