LIGHTING SYSTEM


  1. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENTS

    Component Function
    Main Body ECU (Multiplex Network Body ECU) Receives various signals and turns off the exterior lights.
    Skid Control ECU Assembly Transmits the vehicle speed signal to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).
    Headlight Dimmer Switch Assembly Outputs a light control signal and transmits it to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).
    Front Door Courtesy Light Switch Assembly (LH*1/RH*2) Detects whether a door is open or closed and transmits a signal to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).
    Semiconductor PWR Integration ECU Shuts down power to the headlights*3.
    Headlight Light Control ECU Sub-assembly LH/RH*4 Shuts down power to the headlights and clearance lights.

    Instrument Panel Junction Block Assembly


    • TAIL Relay

    Shuts down power to the taillights, clearance lights*3 and license plate lights.

    *2: RHD Models

    *3: Models with single beam headlight

    *4: Models with triple beam headlight

  2. SYSTEM CONTROL


    1. The light auto turn-off system operates as follows:

      Models for Europe and Destination Package for Malaysia
      Function Operation Condition
      Headlight Auto Turn-off

      When all of the following conditions are met, the headlights automatically turn off:


      • The power switch is turned off.

      • The headlight dimmer switch is in the tail or head position.

      • The vehicle speed is less than 10 km/h (6 mph).

      When all of the following conditions are met, the headlights automatically turn off:


      • The power switch is turned off.

      • The headlight dimmer switch is in the tail or head position.

      • The driver door is closed and then opened.

      Exterior Light Auto Turn-off

      When all of the following conditions are met, the exterior lights automatically turn off:


      • The power switch is turned off.

      • The headlight dimmer switch is in the AUTO position.

      • The vehicle speed is less than 10 km/h (6 mph).

      When all of the following conditions are met, the exterior lights automatically turn off:


      • The power switch is turned off.

      • The headlight dimmer switch is in the AUTO position.

      • The driver door is closed and then opened.

      When both of the following conditions are met, the exterior lights automatically turn off:


      • The power switch is turned to on (ACC) or off.

      • The driver door is closed and then opened.
