UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL(for Sedan) REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

  1. PRECAUTION

    Click here

    Note:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    Note:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  3. REMOVE NO. 1 METER HOOD CLUSTER

      Protective Tape

      Apply protective tape to the area shown in the illustration.

      Using a moulding remover, disengage the 3 clips and remove the No. 1 meter hood cluster.

  4. DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH

    1. Disconnect the front door opening trim weatherstrip LH.

  5. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH

      Using a moulding remover, disengage the 6 clips in the direction indicated by the arrow (1).

    2. Pull the instrument side panel LH in the direction indicated by the arrow (2) to disengage the 2 guides and remove the instrument side panel LH.

  6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Disengage the 4 clips and remove the instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.

  7. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL

      Disengage the 4 clips and remove the lower No. 2 instrument panel finish panel as shown in the illustration.

  8. REMOVE LOWER CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Pull the lower center instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow (1) to disengage the 8 clips.

    2. Pull the lower center instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow (2) to disengage the guide.

    3. Disconnect each connector to remove the lower center instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.

  9. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY

      Disengage the 4 clips and 9 guides and remove the instrument cluster finish panel assembly as shown in the illustration.

  10. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY

  11. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH

  12. DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH

    1. Disconnect the front door opening trim weatherstrip RH.

  13. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH

      Using a moulding remover, disengage the 6 clips in the direction indicated by the arrow (1).

    2. Pull the instrument side panel RH in the direction indicated by the arrow (2) to disengage the 2 guides and remove the instrument side panel RH.

  14. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Disengage the 17 clips and remove the instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

  15. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH

    Tip:

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  16. REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL

    1. B445207

      Using a moulding remover, disengage the 5 claws, 7 clips and guide to remove the center instrument cluster finish panel.

  17. DISCONNECT NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE

  18. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL ASSEMBLY

    1. Disconnect each connector.

    2. Remove the bolt <A> and 2 clips.

    3. Pull the upper instrument panel assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow (1) to disengage the 6 clips.

    4. Pull the upper instrument panel assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow (2) to disengage the 5 guides and remove the upper instrument panel assembly.
