FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY(for Single Type) REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Tip:
  • Use the same procedure for the driver side of RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedures listed below are for the driver side of LHD vehicles.

PROCEDURE

  1. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY

  2. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE COVER

  3. PRECAUTION

    Note:

    After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery negative (-) terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery negative (-) terminal notice before proceeding with work.

  4. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM AUXILIARY BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery negative (-) terminal to disable the SRS system.

    Note:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  5. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

  6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL PASSENGER WITHOUT DOOR AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

    CAUTION:

    When storing the instrument panel passenger without door airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.

    1. B339291

      Remove the 2 screws.

    2. While bending the front of the airbag door, detach the 3 hooks.

    3. Detach the 3 hooks from the rear of the airbag door to remove the instrument panel passenger without door airbag assembly.

  7. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE

      Protective Tape

      *2

      Connector Lock

      Detach the connector clamp.

    2. Using a screwdriver with the tip wrapped with protective tape, release the airbag connector lock.

    3. Disconnect the airbag connector to remove the No. 2 instrument panel wire from the instrument panel passenger without door airbag assembly.

      CAUTION:

      When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
