POWER WINDOW CONTROL SYSTEM Auto Up Operation does not Fully Close Power Window (Jam Protection Function is Activated)

DESCRIPTION

If the door glass or the front power window regulator motor assembly (for driver side)*1 or the front door window regulator sub-assembly (for driver side)*2 does not operate smoothly, the jam protection function may be triggered automatically, resulting in the auto up function being unable to fully close the window.


Tech Tips

The jam protection function is only available on the driver side power window.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. RESET FRONT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY (FOR DRIVER SIDE) OR FRONT DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY (FOR DRIVER SIDE)


    1. w/o Regulator:


      1. Reset the front power window regulator motor assembly (for driver side) Click here.

    2. w/ Regulator:


      1. Reset the front door window regulator sub-assembly (for driver side) Click here.

    3. Check that the power window auto up/down function operates normally.

      OK
      Auto up/down function operates normally.

    NG
    OK
  2. CHECK WINDOW GLASS SLIDING MOVEMENT (APPLICABLE LOCATION)


    1. w/o Regulator:


      1. Remove the front power window regulator motor assembly (for driver side).

    2. w/ Regulator:


      1. Remove the front door window regulator sub-assembly (for driver side).

    3. Install the window glass to the door glass run.

    4. Check if the power window regulator operates smoothly.

    5. Check that the window glass slides smoothly when sliding it up by hand.

      OK
      Window glass slides smoothly.

      Tech Tips

      Make sure that the following conditions are met:


      • The window glass fits with the glass run without improper contact or deformation.


      • Foreign objects are not caught in the glass run.

      CAUTION:

      w/o Regulator:

      Reset the front power window regulator motor assembly (for driver side) again.

      w/ Regulator:

      Reset the front door window regulator sub-assembly (for driver side) again.
