This DTC is stored when the electronically controlled brake system has a problem. Check the electronically controlled brake system when DTC P1578 is output.

While the vehicle speed is 36 km/h (22 mph) or more and the dynamic radar cruise control system is operating, a malfunction in the electronically controlled brake system is detected for 0.2 seconds or more.

  • Hybrid vehicle control ECU

Note:

This DTC may be output by the electronically controlled brake system at the same time. In that case, perform troubleshooting for the electronically controlled brake system first.

PROCEDURE

  1. CHECK FOR DTCs (ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED BRAKE SYSTEM)

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRC / Trouble Codes.

    5. Check for DTCs.

  2. CHECK FOR DTCs (DTC P1578)

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Cruise Control / Trouble Codes.

    5. Clear the DTCs.

      Click here

      Powertrain > Cruise Control > Clear DTCs

    6. Make sure that the DTC detection conditions are met.

      Tip:

      If the detection conditions are not met, the system cannot detect the malfunction.

    7. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Cruise Control / Trouble Codes.

    8. Check for DTCs.

  3. REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU (BRAKE BOOSTER WITH MASTER CYLINDER ASSEMBLY)

    1. Replace the skid control ECU (brake booster with master cylinder assembly).

  4. CHECK FOR DTCs (DTC P1578)

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Cruise Control / Trouble Codes.

    5. Clear the DTCs.

    6. Make sure that the DTC detection conditions are met.

      Tip:
