EXHAUST PIPE INSTALLATION
PROCEDURE
INSTALL AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR
INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY
Check the free length of the compression spring.

Using a vernier caliper, measure the free length of the compression spring.
Minimum length
41.5 mm (1.63 in.)
If the free length is less than the minimum, replace the compression spring.

Wooden Block
Using a hammer and wooden block, tap on a new gasket until its surface is flush with the exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly.
Note:Install the gasket in the correct direction.
Do not reuse the gasket.
Do not damage the gasket by dropping it, etc.
Do not damage the outer surface of the gasket.
Do not push on the gasket with the front exhaust pipe assembly when connecting it.
Connect the front exhaust pipe assembly to the 3 exhaust pipe supports.
Install the front exhaust pipe assembly and 2 compression springs with the 2 bolts.

INSTALL TAILPIPE ASSEMBLY
Check the free length of the compression spring.

Using a vernier caliper, measure the free length of the compression spring.
Minimum length
38.5 mm (1.52 in.)
If the free length is less than the minimum, replace the compression spring.

Using a hammer and wooden block, tap on a new gasket until its surface is flush with the front exhaust pipe assembly.
Note:Install the gasket in the correct direction.
Do not reuse the gasket.
Do not damage the gasket by dropping it, etc.
Do not damage the outer surface of the gasket.
Do not push on the gasket with the tailpipe assembly when connecting it.
Connect the tailpipe assembly to the 2 exhaust pipe supports.
Install the tailpipe assembly and 2 compression springs with the 2 bolts.

INSPECT FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAK
Check that there are no exhaust gas leaks from the points (connection areas of the exhaust pipes and installation areas of each sensor).
